My passion for physical therapy began at a young age and continues to grow with clinical experiences and certifications.

My experience includes time spent in various physical therapy settings such as acute care, neurorehabilitation, outpatient therapy, and vestibular rehabilitation.

My abilities have been further strengthened with certifications in dry needling, strength and conditioning, and vestibular rehabilitation.

Doctor of Physical Therapy

The Emory University School of Medicine prepares Doctors of Physical Therapy (DPT) with didactic knowledge, clinical skills and abilities that bring prevailing practices into the medical field.

American Heart Association

A non-profit organization in the United States that fosters appropriate cardiac care in an effort to reduce disability and deaths caused by cardiovascular disease and stroke.

Vestibular Rehabilitation

A specialized form of therapy intended to alleviate both the primary and secondary problems caused by vestibular (inner ear/balance) disorders. It is an exercise-based program primarily designed to reduce vertigo and dizziness, gaze instability, and/or imbalance & falls.

Research

“Stimulation Translational Opportunities for Rehabilitation Mechanisms”

Team project to measure the effects of differing transcranial magnetic stimulation intervals on the H-reflex in healthy individuals.

  • Project included 15-patient study in collaboration with Emory University Rehabilitation Hospital.
  • Findings scheduled to be presented at the Emory University School of Medicine on April 27, 2017.

Clinical Experience

Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital, Cleveland, OH

Physical Therapy Student Intern, 10-week clinical rotation

  • Performed physical therapy evaluations and treatments on patients with various post surgical and general medical diagnoses in an acute hospital setting.
  • Educated post-operative patients on instructions and protocols for physical activity.

Presented an in-service to rehabilitation staff on a unique case study consisting of a patient with polytrauma and requiring multiple protocols for rehabilitation

  • Planned and organized fundraising events throughout the academic year to raise funds for a donation on behalf of the Emory University Physical Therapy Program.
  • Worked on a team of 10 students to collectively brainstorm and implement approximately four projects.

Marquette Challenge Gala Planning Committee

  • Planned, implemented, and executed a fundraising event to benefit the Foundation for Physical Therapy.
  • Served as the chair of the silent auction sub-committee; managed and delegated tasks to eight individuals.
  • Solicited donations from various community businesses to use in a silent auction at the event.
